The K-pop group first teased the release at the end of their Oct. 1 « The Feels » music video with a poster that read « 2021 NOV — 3rd FULL ALBUM. » Formula of Love: O+T= <3 will mark TWICE’s first studio album since Eyes Wide Open, which dropped in October 2020, and their first overall comeback since the arrival of their 10th EP, Taste of Love, in June. The group gave fans a preview of the new album with their first English single, « The Feels. » The track proved to be a massive hit, garnering 91 million views since its Oct. 1 release. Jeongyeon participera-t-il à la formule de l’amour : O+T= <3 Promotions?
Le 18 août, JYP Entertainment a annoncé que Jeongyeon ferait une pause dans ses promotions pour se concentrer sur sa santé mentale. « Jeongyeon souffre actuellement de panique et d’anxiété psychologique », a déclaré l’agence dans un communiqué, selon Soompi. « Nous considérons la santé de nos artistes comme le problème le plus important. Par conséquent, après des discussions approfondies en interne accompagnées de mesures médicales professionnelles, nous avons décidé qu’il était nécessaire que Jeongyeon ait suffisamment de temps pour se concentrer sur son rétablissement et son repos. » JYP a ajouté que Jeongyeon « ne pourra pas assister à l’activité de TWICE » pendant un certain temps, mais n’a pas précisé quand elle reviendrait.
Jeongyeon figure sur la couverture du nouvel album, mais n’apparaît pas dans la bande-annonce de l’album. Elle était également absente lors des promotions du groupe pour « The Feels », donc on ne sait pas à quel point elle sera impliquée lors des prochaines promotions de retour de TWICE. Il est possible qu’elle soit dans leur prochain clip, mais qu’elle ne fasse tout simplement pas partie des promotions du groupe. Quoi qu’il en soit, les fans sont simplement heureux qu’elle se concentre sur sa santé.
